The Day Nugs Put the Internet Up For Sale

This just in from LuckyNow, where the temperature hit 20 degrees, the town put on sunglasses they didn’t need anymore, and somehow… the internet became a local item.

It started at 11:08 AM.

Nugs walked into Fern’s Flower Shop holding a coffee, a marker, and what he described as “a realization.”

Fern didn’t look up.

“That tone usually costs us money,” she said.

“Not today,” Nugs replied. “Today… we cash in.”

Fern slowly looked over.

“…On what.”

Nugs tapped the counter like it was obvious.

“The brand.”

Fern blinked.

“What brand.”

Nugs leaned in.

“BudzRUs.ca.”

Fern paused.

“…That’s a website.”

“No,” Nugs said, shaking his head. “That’s an asset.

By 11:22 AM, the chalkboard was up.

Right beside the pre-rolls.

Right where customers could see it before making any reasonable decisions.

ANNOUNCEMENT
BUDZRUS.CA IS FOR SALE

Fern read it.

Then read it again.

“…You’re selling the website.”

“I’m selling the future,” Nugs corrected.

Below it, he had written:

FULL ONE-TIME PAYMENT: $3500
(PAYMENT OPTIONS… WE CAN TALK)

Fern crossed her arms.

“Who is going to walk into a cannabis shop and buy a domain name?”

Nugs smiled.

“Vision people.”

At 11:47 AM, the first reaction came in.

A guy walked up to the board, read it slowly, and said:

“…Is that a lot?”

Nugs didn’t hesitate.

“Depends how you measure it.”

He grabbed the marker.

Started doing math.

“$3500 is roughly…” he paused, thinking hard, “about 291 dime bags at $12.”

The guy nodded.

“…That feels like a lot.”

“Or,” Nugs continued, flipping the board slightly for emphasis, “around 875 pre-rolls at four bucks.”

The guy squinted.

“…That somehow feels worse.”

“Exactly,” Nugs said. “Which is why you don’t think of it like that.”

Fern stepped in.

“You absolutely should think of it like that.”

By 1:00 PM, the town had opinions.

Someone said, “That domain sounds important.”

Another person asked if it came “with the vibe.”

A third just stood there and whispered, “BudzRUs…” like they were trying it on for size.

By 2:15 PM, Nugs had upgraded the pitch.

“You’re not buying a website,” he told a small group that didn’t ask to be pitched to. “You’re buying instant recognition.

“From who?” someone asked.

Nugs gestured broadly.

“…Everyone here.”

Fern leaned over.

“That’s like… 12 people.”

“Loyal 12,” Nugs said.

At 3:30 PM, it escalated.

Nugs added a new section to the board:

WHAT YOU GET:
– A NAME PEOPLE REMEMBER
– BUILT-IN CHAOS POTENTIAL
– UNLIMITED ‘BUD’ PUNS
– POSSIBLE GLOBAL DOMINATION (NOT GUARANTEED)

Fern read it.

“…You wrote ‘not guaranteed.’”

“I’m transparent.”

At 4:05 PM, someone actually considered it.

Like… seriously considered it.

Stood there.

Hands in pockets.

Looking at the board.

Looking at the shop.

Looking at Nugs.

“…Would you take payments?”

Nugs didn’t even blink.

“We’re open to conversations.”

Fern turned slowly.

“We are?”

Nugs shrugged.

“Flexible thinking.”

By 5:10 PM, the Mayor stopped in.

Didn’t say anything at first.

Just looked at the board.

Then at Nugs.

Then at Fern.

Then back at the board.

“…Is the internet aware of this.”

Nugs nodded.

“It’s about to be.”

The Mayor took a sip of coffee.

“…Alright.”

That was it.

No follow-up.

Which somehow made it feel official.

As the day wound down, the board stayed up.

The conversations kept happening.

Nobody bought it.

But nobody dismissed it either.

And that’s when Fern realized something.

People weren’t laughing.

They were… thinking.

Nugs leaned back, looking proud.

“You feel that?”

Fern nodded slowly.

“…I hate that I do.”

They stood there for a moment.

The shop quiet.

The sign still up.

The number still there.

$3500.

Not small.

Not ridiculous.

Just… sitting in that space where something could happen.

Nugs smiled.

“All it takes is one.”

Fern glanced at him.

“…And if no one buys it?”

Nugs shrugged.

“Then we keep it.”

He looked around the shop.

The people.

The vibe.

The weird, unexplainable momentum of LuckyNow.

“…Not the worst backup plan.”

Fern didn’t respond.

She just looked at the board one more time…

And left it exactly where it was.
